Heartfelt thanks to, and prayer for, the mayors of those municipalities listed below. We are sorry that we cannot write each a personal note of thanks. Pray fervently for your mayor and local officials. Let them know you appreciate them! - Miles

North Carolina's municipalities that issued

National Day of Prayer proclamations

2003 and prior

We apologize for not continuing the practice of sending annual letters to the mayors of the municipalities. We rely on local Christians to pray fervently for their mayors and other government leaders, and to remind their local mayors annually of the National Day of Prayer each first Thursday in May. Thank you. – Miles (updated April, 2012)

Places and dates (since 1999), where mayors in North Carolina have issued Day of Prayer proclamations for the first Thursday in May, our nation's National Day of Prayer.

Your mayor (one of NC's over 527) was sent a letter encouraging him/her to issue a proclamation. Ask your mayor for his/hers and read it at your NDP observances in churches and municipal buildings. You may also want to send a personal letter to your mayor. Click on links for examples, letter to mayor, and sample proclamation.

Remind your church to pray for your mayor and local civic officials. God bless, protect, guide, and provide every good thing for our honorable public servants whom we have chosen!

If I can be of further assistance, please contact me by e-mail. Thanks. - Miles

(Current municipalities are in bold type)

As of 5/6/03 the total is 183 of NC's 527+! 17 first timers, according to our records! If your mayor was one of them, please write him or her a note of thanks. I NEED YOUR HELP! If your town's mayor issued a proclamation and is not listed here, please let us know. We sincerely thank the many towns and mayors who will respond! Keep them coming in! Although we are unable to respond to each note personally we read each and deeply appreciate them! Thank you so much! Please remember that the National Day of Prayer is the FIRST THURSDAY IN MAY EACH YEAR. Put it on your calendar now, and thanks!
