"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." (1 Timothy 2:1-4)
We are admonished to pray for "all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."
PRAY EARNESTLY
for the annual denominational General Conference, General Assembly, and/or General Church gathering of your church or organization. Even if you cannot attend, you can PRAY, and make a difference!
BECOME INVOLVED
in any prayer and fasting "appeal" sponsored by your church, denomination, or organization. Some have special guides such as "50 Days of Prayer for the (denomination)" or "40 Days of Prayer and Fasting." Obtain one if possible so that you may pray knowledgeably and specifically. BEGIN NOW, PRAYERFULLY, to ASK GOD WHAT WOULD PLEASE HIM. As you wait quietly upon Him, seek his mind and His will. Jot down what He reveals to you so you will remember to PRAISE HIM SPECIFICALLY when it comes to pass.
WATCH AND PRAY and WATCH GOD WORK AS YOU PRAY.
Pray and see what God will do. Pray and see what God wants you to do. Prayer, faith, and obedience go together. Expect miracles. I almost told someone once regarding a difficult situation, "We'll pray but don't expect any miracles" but I abruptly "froze" with the realization that we come to God because WE NEED MIRACLES. Didn't Jesus say, "Without Me ye can do nothing" yet so many times we try to do it all ourselves? Isn't each victorious day a miracle of God's grace in our lives? Satan is at war with you and "The Church" and no brilliant strategy will win that war, nor its battles, for it is not by might, nor by power, but by God's Spirit, that battles must be waged, personally and corporately. Let us call in the resources of heaven to defeat the powers of darkness!
